our recent shows.

Captain Murderer and the Morecambe Mermaid, our first show, was quite a while ago now. We still haven’t got round to making that tricky second show! That doesn’t mean we haven’t been creating together in recent years. We regularly collaborate with Az2B Theatre Company.

Az2B Theatre Company

Belinda Lazenby’s company specialises in creating innovative, impactful theatre for Arts in Health, Education & Training.

Az2B began its journey in 2012 with Grandma Remember Me? A powerful, moving story looking at the journey of dementia through the eyes of a child. What Do You See? Is the companion piece to Grandma Remember Me? It explores the later stages of dementia within a care home setting.

John Barber designs the shows and his puppets and masks feature. He also acts in the shows and I direct.

We were part of the collaborative team that created What Do You See?
And earlier this year we joined Belinda and the team again for the research and development of a third show, Wishes Fulfilled.

John and I are very happy to be part of future plans to adapt the work to enable us to continue to reach our audience.

Ladies That Bus

I jumped on the bus at the last minute and now I’m coming along for the ride. Excited to be part of new developments for the Ladies That Bus team.

Ladies That Bus enjoyed a sell-out tour in February and March 2020. Based on interviews, chats and stories collected on the 555 bus route from Lancaster to Keswick, Ladies That Bus is a joint production between Theatre By The Lake, Brewery Arts Kendal, The Dukes Theatre Lancaster and the company. We are currently recording a 10 minute excerpt from the show for BBC Radio Cumbria and planning a socially-distanced short run of the show at The Dukes in September 2020.
